Opera dei congressi and dei committee (English: Operadeicongressiedeicomitati)

The Catholic movement refers to an organized movement of lay people (non-clergy) who were active not only religiously but also politically in order to restore the rights of the Pope and the Church in this critical situation. Specifically, it refers to the Opera dei congressi e dei comitati (Congress and Committee Action Group). This was formed mainly by the Catholic Youth Association at the first Catholic National Congress held in Venice in 1874.
