Oribi (English spelling)

Japanese: オリビ（英語表記）oribi

An elegant, even-toed, bovid mammal (illustration) that resembles a small deer. Found in sub-Saharan Africa. Stands 50-70cm tall at the shoulder, 90-110cm long, and weighs 12-22kg. Has long, slender limbs, a curved back, and a high waist. Males have short, erect horns, less than 20cm long, slightly curved forward, and erect above the head. Females have no horns. The hair is short and smooth, yellowish brown or reddish brown over most of the body, and the inner surfaces of the ears, throat, chest, belly, and underside of the tail are white. There are black bare areas (glands) in front of the eyes and under the ears. The tips of the ears and the upper surface of the tail are brown to black.

小さなシカに似た優美な偶蹄目ウシ科の哺乳類（イラスト）。サハラ以南のアフリカに分布。肩高50～70cm，体長90～110cm，体重12～22kg。四肢が細長く，背が曲がり腰が高く，雄の角は短く，20cm以下で頭上に直立し，軽く前方に曲がる。雌には角がない。体毛は短く滑らかで，体の大部分は黄褐色ないし赤褐色，耳介の内面，のど，胸，腹，尾の下面は白色。目の前と耳の下に黒い裸出部(腺)がある。耳介の先端と尾の上面は褐色～黒色。
