Orinoco [river] - Orinoco

Japanese: オリノコ[川] - オリノコ
Orinoco [river] - Orinoco
A river originating in the Parima Mountains in southwestern Venezuela, flowing northwest to the border with Colombia, then turning east, passing through the savannah region known as the Llano, before emptying into the Atlantic Ocean. It forms a large delta at its mouth. Its total length is 2,500 km. It is navigable for about 1,100 km by large ship and 1,670 km by small boat. In 1880, A. Humboldt discovered that the Casiquiare River, a tributary of the Amazon, connects to the Negro River, a tributary of the Amazon. The basin is undergoing transformation due to the construction of dams and the development of oil resources.
