In the Hogen Rebellion in 1156 (Hogen 1), he played an active role on the side of Emperor Goshirakawa, and was allowed to enter the palace as a result of his achievements, and was promoted to the rank of Saemon-no-jo, Kurodo, and Jū Gōi (Junior Fifth Rank). His wife was the daughter of Atsuta Daigūji Noritada (niece of the wife of Minamoto no Yoshitomo). He died on May 29, Hōgen 2.
