〘Noun〙 (also "reishin")① A god with miraculous powers. A god who brings good fortune. ※Shoreishū-2 (around 835) Masudaike Monument in Yamato Province "As if the ancestors of the family were gods , they would be transformed into gods by the floodwaters ."② A word added to the name of a god when a request is made to the Urabe family to worship the ancestors of the family as gods. ※Essays: Shogunate Stories (1789-1801?) "When a feudal lord wishes to worship his ancestors as gods, he requests the Yoshida family to name them as spirit gods."
