Probation
A student who has been given a warning due to poor grades or cheating. If the student does not meet the conditions required by the university (for example, "achieving a C average or above by the next semester"), he or she will be expelled.

Japanese:
成績不良や不正行為などによって、警告(warning)を受けている学生の状態。大学側が要求する条件(成績でいえば、たとえば「次学期までにC平均以上の成績を取ること」)を満たさなければ、退学になる状態をいいます。
