Japanese: 帯引物 - おびひきもの

It is a type of Kabuki dance. When the Shosho of the Kewaizaka district of Oiso, where Soga Goro is a frequent visitor, hears that Kudo Suketsune, Goro's father's sworn enemy, is in the district, Kobayashi Asahina grabs the Shosho's obi and stops him, and this scene is depicted in the dance version of "Obihiki." This group of works is called "Obihikimono." It was customary early on to select "The Tale of Soga" as the subject of New Year's Kyogen in Edo Kabuki, and it was customary to perform the dance version of the strength contest between Goro and Asahina, called "Kusazurihiki."

歌舞伎舞踊の一系統。曾我五郎が親しく通う大磯の廓の傾城化粧坂（けわいざか）の少将が，五郎の父の仇敵工藤祐経が廓内にありと聞きつけ，女だてらに勇み立って駆けこもうとするのを，小林朝比奈が少将の帯を捕らえて引き止める場を舞踊化したのが〈帯引〉。その作品の一群を〈帯引物〉という。《曾我物語》を初春狂言の題材に選ぶことが，早くに式例化した江戸歌舞伎では，五郎を軸に展開し，なかんずく五郎と朝比奈による〈草摺引〉と呼称する力競べの場を舞踊化して上演するのが常であった。
