A former town in Miyaki County, eastern Saga Prefecture. It is located at the southern foot of the Sefuri Mountains. The town produces rice, wheat, and vegetables, and also engages in dairy farming, poultry farming, and beef cattle raising. The Nagasaki Main Line and National Route 34 run through the southern part of the town from east to west. In March 2005, the town merged with Kitashigeyasu Town and Mine Town in Miyaki County to become a town, Miyaki Town. 18.90 km2 . 8,674 people (2003). 佐賀県東部，三養基(みやき)郡の旧町。脊振(せふり)山地の南麓に位置する。米，麦，野菜を産し，酪農，養鶏，肉牛肥育も行う。町の南部を長崎本線，国道34号線がほぼ東西に通じる。2005年３月三養基郡北茂安町，三根町と合併し町制，みやき町となる。18.90km2。8674人（2003）。
