Obagasake - Obagasake

Japanese:
Obagasake - Obagasake

The title of a Kyogen piece. A female Kyogen. The aunt who runs a sake shop is stingy and won't let her nephew (shite) drink, no matter what excuse he comes up with. The nephew gives up and starts to go home, but then he turns around and threatens him, telling him to be careful because there are rumors of terrifying demons in the area. Then he puts on a demon mask (a Buaku mask) and pretends to be a sake buyer, asking for guidance. When the aunt opens the door, she chases him, first ordering him to serve sake to her from now on, telling him not to look, then opens the lid of the sake jar, lifts the chin of the mask, and starts drinking. Eventually, she moves the mask to the side of her face, and finally puts it on her knees. While drinking while stomping her foot and threatening her, she becomes drunk and falls asleep, and her true identity is revealed and she is cornered. The film cleverly depicts the nephew's growing drunkenness through his increasingly bold appearance.
