…Growing up under the influence of the nationalist movement from an early age, he left Vietnam in 1911 as an apprentice cook on a French ship, hoping to find a way to save his native country, Vietnam, which was under French colonial rule, in the society of the colonial power. In 1919, he submitted the “Demands of the People of Annam” under the name Nguyen Ai Quoc (Nguyen Patriot) at the Versailles Peace Conference, which made him famous.
