At the Imperial Diet of Worms in 1495, led by Elector of Mainz Berthold von Henneberg (1441/42-1504), the feudal powers proposed the establishment of an Imperial Reichsregiment to govern on behalf of the king, but this was opposed by the king and others and did not come to fruition.
