…First Khan of the Ilkhanate. Also known as Hulagu. Reigned 1260-65. Grandson of Genghis Khan. In the mid-13th century, under the orders of his brother Mongke (Kenjong), he commanded tribal armies requisitioned from each royal family and the 10,000-man corps of the Azerbaijan Naval Base and the Hindustan-Kashmir Naval Base, which were the western branch offices of Okodi Khan's time, and began his campaign of conquest in Western Asia. He captured and surrendered the Ismaili fortresses, captured Baghdad, and destroyed the Abbasid Caliphate (1258). …
