...Behaviorism, which became popular after the decline of instinct theory, promoted experimental research and drew attention to the importance of acquired habits and environmental factors in the influence of behavior. From the 1930s onwards, experimental methods were used to study the psychological processes of social and group behavior, and new frontiers were opened up by M. Scherif's social perception, J. L. Moreno's sociometry, and K. Lewin's research into group behavior, which later led to group dynamics. It is also noteworthy that S. Freud and the Neo-Freudian depth psychology were introduced and applied to the study of prejudice, authoritarian personality, social movements, and other subjects with great success.
