Kabuki actor. Stage name from the second generation onwards: Takinoya. Haiku name: Shinsha. (1) First generation (1691-1729, ∥ Genroku 4-Kyoho 14) A disciple of Ichikawa Danjūrō II, he was called Ichikawa Benjirō, and in 1719 (?) he changed his name to Monnosuke, becoming famous as a young actor. (2) Second generation (1743-94, ∥ Kanpō 3-Kansei 6) In the first year of the Horeki era, he performed in Osaka under the name of Takinaka Kakuzō, and in 1759 he changed his name to Hidematsu at the Morita-za in Edo. In 1762 he became a disciple of the fourth Danjūrō, taking the name Ichikawa Benzō, and in 1770 (Meiwa 7) he took the name Monnosuke at the Nakamura-za. 歌舞伎俳優。2世以降の屋号滝野屋。俳名は新車。(1)初世(1691‐1729∥元禄4‐享保14) 2世市川団十郎の門下として市川弁次郎と称し,1719年(?)門之助と改名,若衆方として鳴らした。(2)2世(1743‐94∥寛保3‐寛政6) 宝暦初年に滝中鶴蔵の名で大坂の舞台をふみ,59年江戸森田座で秀松と改名。62年4世団十郎の門に入り市川弁蔵を名のり,70年(明和7)中村座で門之助を襲名。安永期の若手四天王の一人とされた人気役者。
