Shmidt, O.Yu. (English spelling) ShmidtOYu

...Two men who marched on the ice survived, and the remains of the ship were found on the coast of Greenland in 1884. In the summer of 1932, the Sibiryakov, commanded by Soviet Otto Yu. Shmidt (1891-1956), passed through the Northeast Passage and entered Yokohama. At the end of the 19th century, geographical discoveries of the Arctic by land and sea became less frequent, and the value of scientific observations at a single point became recognized.
