The ones distributed from Siberia to northwestern North America were once considered to be one species called bighorn sheep, but in recent years, the ones that live in the Rocky Mountains from southwestern Canada to northern Mexico are often called American bighorn sheep ( O. canadensis ) (illustration), the ones that live from Alaska to British Columbia are called Dall bighorn sheep ( O. dalli ), and those in northeastern Siberia are called Siberian bighorn sheep ( O. nivicola ). They are 76-107 cm tall at the shoulder, and weigh 56-124 kg for males and 33-68 kg for females. …
