Siberia and the Exile System

Based on his vivid experiences, he published Tent-life in Siberia (1870), a detailed depiction of the life and customs of the indigenous people of the Far East. In 1885-86, he visited Russia again at the request of Century magazine in New York, and published Siberia and the Exile System (2 volumes) in 1891. It is said that many intellectuals, such as Korolenko, who criticized the Tsarist government's inhumane policies, and more than 500 exiles cooperated in this research trip, and Kennan's report, along with illustrations by the artist GA Frost, who accompanied him, made a great impact on the world.
