Tsutomu Oshio

Japanese: 小塩力 - おしおつとむ

1903-1958 A pastor and Bible scholar from the Showa era.
Born on March 16, 1903. Baptized by Uemura Masahisa, he studied under Takakura Tokutarou. After serving at Matsue Church and Sasebo Church, he founded the Igusa Church of the United Church of Christ in Japan in 1947. He became the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Gospel and World" and edited the "New Testament Theological Dictionary." He passed away on June 12, 1958, at the age of 55. He was from Gunma Prefecture and graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. His works include "The Life of Takakura Tokutarou" and "Introduction to the Bible."

明治36年3月16日生まれ。植村正久から洗礼をうけ,高倉徳太郎に師事。松江教会,佐世保教会をへて,昭和22年日本基督(キリスト)教団井草教会を設立。雑誌「福音と世界」の主筆となり,「新約聖書神学辞典」を編集した。昭和33年6月12日死去。55歳。群馬県出身。東京帝大卒。著作に「高倉徳太郎伝」「聖書入門」など。
