Japanese: 庵治[町] - あじ

A former town in Kida County, occupying the tip of the Aji Peninsula in northern Kagawa Prefecture. Sardines and sea bream are abundant in the fishing, and terraced fields are laid out on the hills. Quarrying of Aji stone, a type of granite, is popular, and it is shipped out as lanterns and gravestones. The Gokenzan area is part of the Setonaikai National Park. In January 2006, it was incorporated into Takamatsu City along with Mure Town in Kida County, Kagawa Town and Konan Town in Kagawa County, and Kokubunji Town in Ayauta County. 15.82 ^km2 . 6,628 people (2003).

香川県北部，庵治半島先端部を占める木田郡の旧町。イワシ，タイの漁獲が多く，丘陵部には段々畑が開ける。庵治石という花コウ岩の切出しが盛んで，灯籠(とうろう)や墓石として出荷される。五剣山一帯は瀬戸内海国立公園に属する。2006年１月木田郡牟礼町，香川郡香川町，香南町，綾歌郡国分寺町と高松市へ編入。15.82km²。6628人（2003）。
