…In 1868 (Meiji 1), he handed over the name Rokuzaemon to his brother-in-law Kisaburo, becoming the third Kangoro (called "Negishi no Kangoro" after his residence). He formally inherited the right of head of the Osatsuma-bushi school and took the name Osatsuma Gendayu Fujiwara Naoko Joku.
