Japanese: 全逓三月闘争 - ぜんていさんがつとうそう

The Zentei Union took the lead in fighting for wage increases in March 1948, fighting against the 2,920 yen-based job-class wage system proposed by the Ashida Kin'yo Cabinet. It is often simply called the March Struggle. It was a major struggle following the October Struggle (industrial-level October Struggle) in 1946 and the February 1st Strike in 1947. In this struggle, Zentei Union repeatedly carried out strikes in different regions, and planned a nationwide strike at the end of March. This policy was in consideration of the ban on nationwide general strikes such as the February 1st Strike, but a memorandum by GHQ's Director of Economic and Scientific Affairs, Markat, deemed it to be the same as the February 1st Strike, and was banned, and the struggle ended in defeat for the workers.

全逓が，芦田均内閣により提案された2920円ベースの職階制賃金に反対し，1948年3月，官公庁労働組合の中心になって闘った賃上げ闘争。単に三月闘争ということが多い。1946年の十月闘争(産別十月闘争)や47年の二･一ストに続く大闘争となった。全逓は，この闘争で地域ごとのストライキを反復実行し，3月末には全国一斉ストライキを計画した。この方針は，二･一ストのような全国的ゼネストが禁止されたことを配慮したものであったが，GHQ経済科学局長マーカットの覚書により二･一スト同様のものとみなされて禁止され，闘争は労働者の敗北に終わった。
