A collection of biographies of Roman emperors written in Latin. It is thought to have been written at the end of the 4th century. It consists of 30 volumes, and includes biographies of Roman emperors, co-emperors, and pretenders to the throne from 117 (Hadrian) to 284 (Numerian), just before Diocletian ascended to the throne. It was written by six authors, including Aelius Spartianus, and dedicated to Diocletian, Constantine I, and others. This book was highly valued as a source of the history of the Roman Empire in the 3rd century, for which other sources are scarce, and as a detailed biographical source of the 2nd century emperors. However, since the end of the 19th century, the book has come under stern criticism in academic circles for its date of creation, authorship, and credibility.

ラテン語で書かれたローマ皇帝列伝集。4世紀末の成立と思われる。全30巻からなり，117年(ハドリアヌス)から284年(ヌメリアヌス)，すなわちディオクレティアヌスの登位直前までのローマ皇帝と，副帝，帝位僭称者の伝記を集めている。スパルティアヌスAelius Spartianusなど6名の著者が分担して執筆し，ディオクレティアヌス，コンスタンティヌス1世らに献呈した形をとっている。本書は，他に史料の乏しい3世紀のローマ帝国の歴史の史料として，また2世紀諸帝の詳細な伝記史料として重宝がられたが，19世紀末以来，成立年代，著者問題，ひいてはその信憑性に厳しい史料批判が加えられ，学界の一論争点となっている。
