A plateau in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas in the United States. In this region it is also called the Ozark Mountains. It lies between the Missouri and Arkansas rivers, and partly extends into Oklahoma and Kansas. It has a structure in which limestone and dolomite layers are layered on top of igneous rock layers, and the upper part has been dissected by erosion. The highest part is the Boston Mountains, and there are mountains over 600 meters above sea level. The Ozark Plateau is rich in lead and zinc, and there are also areas for fruit cultivation.
