Sichuan Magistrate - Shisenbugyo
An office in the Edo Shogunate. A position under the Finance Magistrate, newly established in 1725 (Kyoho 10), it was responsible for flood control projects on four rivers: the Edo River, the Kinu River, the Kokai River, and the Shimo Tone River. In 1723, the area of ​​responsibility was expanded to the entire Kanto region. Along with civil engineers who worked as construction officers (gokenin), they supervised regular construction and national construction. In 1731, it was abolished and absorbed into the duties of the Finance Magistrate. It had a capacity of three to four people, and at the time of its abolition, it consisted of four people: Shimizu Hisanojo, Shimada Heisuke, Suzuki Chuzaemon, and Yomota Sadayu. [Otani Sadao]
