Yanagihara family

Japanese: 柳原家 - やなぎはらけ
Yanagihara family
A branch of the Hino family, the Northern branch of the Fujiwara clan. Its founder was Sukeaki, the son of Hino Toshimitsu, the Gon Dainagon, who lived in the late Kamakura period. His descendants made writing their profession. They held the highest official rank of First Rank Gon Dainagon. In the Meiji period, they became counts. Other branches of the family include the Mushakoji and Machijiri families.
