The Imperial Palace was located in Otsu, Omi Province (Shiga Prefecture) for five years from the sixth year of Emperor Tenchi ( 667 ). It was abolished during the Jinshin War. Remains believed to be the remains of the palace have been discovered in the Nishikori district of Otsu City.
