Studentenlied

Japanese: Studentenlied
Studentenlied

...Songs that are loved and sung primarily by students, such as school songs, dormitory songs, and cheer songs, are collectively referred to as student songs.
[Student Song]
The origins of student songs, Studentenlied (German: "Studentenlied"), lie in the folk songs sung by traveling students in medieval Europe, and later, from the end of the 18th century to the first half of the 19th century, there was a vigorous effort in Germany to compile traditional and new student songs. The fact that medieval students traveled to universities all over Europe, and that early modern German universities allowed students the freedom to transfer, strengthened the national unity and comradeship of students, and it is believed that the historical background in which the formation of student organizations was particularly promoted in the 18th and 19th centuries gave rise to the compilation of student songs.
