Mr. Ogushi

Japanese: 小串氏 - おぐしうじ

They are said to be descendants of the Kawamura clan, with the surname Fujiwara. During the Jokyu War, Ogushi Goro served in the Shogunate army and was wounded in battle. In the mid-Kamakura period, he became the land steward of Himono-sho in Omi Province, and towards the end of the Kamakura period, he became a retainer of the Hojo commoner Tokoha Noritada, and wielded power as the head inspector of the Rokuhara Tandai and as the deputy governor of Harima and other areas. In the Shochu Incident (1324), Ogushi Noriyuki attacked Tajimi Kuninaga (who supported Emperor Go-Daigo) and forced him to commit suicide. The waka poems of Ogushi Norihide, who served Rokuhara, are included in the Gyokuyo Wakashu and Zoku Senzai Wakashu. During the Kenmu government, the name of Ogushi Hidenobu appears in the Musha-dokoro, but the Ogushi clan later came to belong to the Ashikaga clan.

藤原姓河村氏の流という。承久の乱のとき小串五郎が幕軍に属し戦傷を負っている。鎌倉中期には近江国檜物荘地頭，末期には北条庶族常葉範貞の家臣となり，六波羅探題の検断頭人として，あるいは播磨などの守護代として権力をふるう。正中の変(1324)では，小串範行が多治見国長(後醍醐天皇方)を攻め自殺させた。また六波羅に仕えた小串範秀の和歌は《玉葉和歌集》《続千載和歌集》などに採られている。建武政権では武者所に小串秀信の名が見えるが，その後小串氏は足利氏に属すことになる。
