Fukutaro Okui
1897-1965 A sociologist from the Showa era.
Born November 21, 1897. Became a professor at Keio University in 1927, and president in 1931. Achieved pioneering achievements in the field of urban sociology in Japan. Served as president of the Japan Association of Urban Studies and director of the National Living Research Institute. Died February 16, 1965. Age 67. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Keio University. Written works include "Modern Metropolises" and "National Land Planning".

明治30年11月21日生まれ。昭和2年慶大教授となり,31年塾長。日本の都市社会学の分野で先駆的業績をあげる。日本都市学会会長,国民生活研究所所長などをつとめた。昭和40年2月16日死去。67歳。東京出身。慶大卒。著作に「現代大都市論」「国土計画論」など。
