Tamashek

…In Morocco, there are many dialects in the Rif Mountains (Riff), Tamazight, and Shilha, and in Mauritania there is Zenaga. The language of the Tuareg people (called Tamashek), which is widespread in a wide area from the Sahara to Nigeria and Mali, has its own writing system called the Tifinagh script. The extinct Guanche language of the Canary Islands can be spoken by whistling, which is said to have been useful for long-distance communication.
