Tasmanian - Tasmanian

Japanese:
Tasmanian - Tasmanian

The indigenous people of Tasmania, an island in the south of the Australian continent, were drastically reduced in number by massacres and other means after the arrival of white people in 1803, and the pure Tasmanian aborigines became extinct in 1876. Because the remaining records are very poor, we know nothing in detail about their language, especially about its grammar. However, in terms of phonology, it is said to have similarities with the aboriginal languages of mainland Australia in terms of the distinction of sounds and the rules for combining sounds. There are apparently at least 16 tribes at the time of the arrival of white people, and these are said to be classified into eight to 12 languages. It is unclear whether it is of the same family as the aboriginal languages of mainland Australia, and also its family history with other languages.
