Single indictment principle

Japanese: 起訴状一本主義 - きそじょういっぽんしゅぎ
Single indictment principle
When a prosecutor files a public prosecution, he or she must submit only an indictment to the court and must not submit any documents or evidence that may give rise to preconceived ideas about the case. The current Criminal Procedure Code follows this principle.
