Thumb piano

The name Sanza is the name of a region in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and it is also called by various other names, such as mbira, kalimba, and likembe, depending on the region and the shape of the instrument. In Europe and the United States, it is commonly called "thumb piano." In the 19th century, Sanza was brought to Latin America and began to be used in the music of black Caribbean people.
