…The term art science began as a translation of the German word Kunstwissenschaft and has since become established, but in the UK, the US, France, and other countries, there is no equivalent term (such as science of art). Kunst has two broad and narrow meanings, either "art" or "plastic art," and art science is accordingly multi-faceted.
