Tanji Road - Tanji Road

Japanese:
Tanji Road - Tanji Road
An ancient road that is said to have run from Izumi Province to Minamiyamato, crossing Minamikawachi from east to west. It roughly corresponds to the Takenouchi Kaido of the Edo period, which started in Sakai (present-day Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture). The Tanbi Road and Otsu Road appear in an article on the Jinshin War in the Nihon Shoki, and we can see that they passed through an area that had long been called Tanbi, and that they were located in a position that could be seen from Takayasu Castle (present-day Yao City). Although based on natural routes, they can also be seen as official roads established by the ancient state, and the two roads run parallel to each other, maintaining a distance of about 1.9 km. The place name Daido remains on the Taishi-cho side of Takenouchi Pass, which straddles Taishi-cho, Osaka Prefecture, and Katsuragi City, Nara Prefecture. →Hanyuzaka→Related articles Isonagatani|Takeuchi Kaido
