Theo van Doesburg

Dutch abstract painter. Her real name was Christiaan Emil Marie Küpper. She was born in Utrecht. She founded the art movement De Stijl with Mondrian and others. She switched from being an actor to being a painter, and also showed a wide range of talent in literature, music, and architecture. In addition to her Neoplastic paintings, she also produced architectural works such as the Rosenberg House plan and the remodeling plan for Unter den Linden in Berlin (both 1923) with the architect Cornelis van Eesteren. She also published Dada poems under the pen name Bonsetto and critiques under the name Camini in the journal De Stijl.

オランダの抽象画家。本名Christiaan Emil Marie Küpper。ユトレヒト生れ。芸術運動〈デ･ステイル〉をモンドリアンらとおこす。俳優から画家に転じ，さらに文学，音楽，建築に多彩な才能を示す。〈新造形主義〉の絵画作品のほか，建築ではローゼンベルク邸案，ベルリンのウンター･デン･リンデン街改造計画(ともに1923)などを建築家ファン･エーステレンCornelis van Eesterenと発表，また機関誌《デ･ステイル》にはボンセットの筆名でダダ詩を，カミーニの名で評論を載せる。
