Holon

…He later entered the field of science history and theory with works such as “Sleepwalker” (1959) and “Theory of Creative Activity” (1964), and severely criticized the traditional reductionist paradigm of science (see “Ghost in the Machine” (1968) and “Beyond Reductionism” (ed., 1969)). He proposed the concept of the holon, advocated a new holism, and created the impetus for the so-called New Age Science with works such as “The Essence of Chance” (1972) and “The Mystery of the Midsummer Frog” (1973). His holism is included in his posthumous work “Janus” (1978, translated into Japanese as “The Holon Revolution”). …
