(4) The Melchiorites, beginning with Melchior Hoffman (before 1500-1543) Hoffman exerted enormous influence in northern Europe, especially in eastern Friesland and the Netherlands, based in Strasbourg, by prophesying the imminent end of the world, the eradication of apostates by the imperial city authorities prior to that, and the establishment of the Kingdom of God afterwards. The Anabaptist Kingdom of Münster was also strongly influenced by this sect. ...
