Japanese: 空城計 - くうじょうけい（英語表記）Kōng chéng jì

A Chinese Peking opera piece. Based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Shu general Ma Su disobeys Zhuge Liang's orders and is defeated by Wei general Sima Yi, losing Jieting. Kongming is surprised by the news, but Sima Yi's forces are already approaching Xicheng. As a last resort, he opens the city gates on all four sides, climbs the castle tower, drinks sake, and quietly plays the koto. Thinking that there are ambushes, Sima Yi retreats, but when he realizes that the city is empty, he attacks again, only to find that Zhao Yun's reinforcements have already arrived, and he retreats without a fight. This koto-playing scene is famous as a famous scene in Peking opera.

中国，京劇の演目。《三国演義》にもとづく。蜀将･馬謖（ばしよく）は諸葛孔明の命を聞かず，魏将･司馬懿（しばい）に敗れて街亭を失う。孔明はその報せに驚いたが，司馬懿の軍勢は早や西城に迫った。窮余の一策，四面の城門を開き，城楼に上って酒を酌み，静かに琴をかき鳴らす。司馬懿は伏兵あるとみて退却するが，空城の計と知って再び攻め寄せれば，すでに趙雲の援軍がおり，また戦わずして退く。この弾琴の場は京劇中名場面として名高い。
