Japanese: 大沢野[町] - おおさわの

A former town in Kaminoikawa County, central Toyama Prefecture. It occupies the alluvial fan on the right bank of the Jinzu River and the terraced area of the river valley. Sasazu, the central town, developed as a post station on the Hida Kaido road in the early modern period. The Takayama Main Line runs through the town. The town produces rice, wheat, figs, and timber, and has industries such as spinning and weaving, machinery, and electronic parts. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Toyama City along with Oyama Town in Kaminoikawa County, and Yao Town, Funaka Town, Yamada Village, and Hosoiri Village in Fushiki County. 74.66 ^km2 . Population 22,875 (2003).
