Guelfo

…the "Papacy" in medieval Italian history. In Italian, Guelfo. It is derived from the name of the Welfen family, a large noble family in Saxony, Germany, who opposed the Staufen emperors, but the name was borrowed to indicate the anti-Staufen family.
