[Fixed type sieve machine]
Fixed sieves, consisting of wire mesh stretched over a wooden frame and inclined at 35 to 45 degrees, are often seen at construction sites as tools for sifting sand. Another type of sieve is made up of wedge bars or rails arranged almost parallel to each other at intervals of 20 to 40 cm and an inclination angle of 35 to 45 degrees. These sieves are called grizzlies and are widely used in ore-dressing plants and crushing plants to receive raw ore. In addition, an arc-shaped sieve (Figure 2), which uses wedge wires with openings of 0.1 to 1 mm to form a sieve surface into an arc shape and sieves pulp fed in the tangential direction, is a simple structure yet highly functional sieve, and is used in coal-dressing plants to screen pulverized coal and in potato starch manufacturing processes.

　固定式のふるいとしては，木枠に金網を張り，35～45度くらいの傾斜にしたものを，砂をふるい分けるための道具として建築現場などでみかける。また，ウェッジバーやレール材などを，20～40cmほどの間隔で，35～45度くらいの傾斜角をもってほぼ平行に並べただけのふるいはグリズリgrizzlyと呼ばれ，選鉱工場や砕石工場における原鉱の受入れなどに広く使われている。また目開き0.1～1mmほどのウェッジワイヤによるふるい面を円弧状に成形し，接線方向に供給されるパルプをふるい分ける弧状ふるい(図2)は簡単な構造にもかかわらず優れた性能のふるい機で，選炭工場における微粉炭のふるい分け，バレイショデンプン製造工程などに使われている。…
