〘 noun 〙 A fatty oil obtained from the seeds of the taifushi. When new, it is a tasteless, odorless white ointment, but it eventually turns yellow and emits a unique odor. It was once used to treat leprosy, but due to advances in antibiotics, it is rarely used these days. *Maki Rojin (1935) (Hojo Tamio) "Leprosy bacteria are rod-shaped bacteria similar to pulmonary tuberculosis bacteria, and they are broken down and die off when taifushi oil is injected."
