Gotterdammerung (English spelling)

In the first act (1856), Brunhild, one of the Valkyries, is forced to sleep on a rock because she disobeyed the orders of her father, the god Wotan. In the second act (Siegfried, 3 acts, 1871), the young hero Siegfried slays a giant snake and awakens Brunhild. In the third act (Götterdämmerung, 3 acts, 1874), Siegfried is killed by Hagen's cunning plan.
