Zhang Dong-sun (English spelling)

Chinese philosopher and critic. After studying in Japan and graduating from the University of Tokyo, he participated in the Xinhai Revolution and attended the founding conference of the Communist Party of China in 1921. In 1932 he founded the National Socialist Party (which was renamed the Democratic Socialist Party in 1946) but was expelled. After serving as a Standing Committee member of the China Democratic League, he continued to hold important positions such as a member of the Central People's Government after the founding of the People's Republic of China, where he was involved in a wide range of critical and cultural activities. His works include "New Philosophical Essays" and "Ethical Philosophy."

中国の哲学者，評論家。日本に留学し，東京大学卒業後，辛亥革命に参加し，1921年には中国共産党創立大会にも参加した。 1932年国家社会党 (1946年民主社会党と改称) を結成したが，除名。中国民主同盟常務委員を経て，中華人民共和国成立後も中央人民政府委員などの要職にあって幅広く評論，文化活動に従事した。著書に『新哲学論叢』『倫理的哲学』などがある。
