Prince Okusaka - The Prince of Okusaka

Japanese: 大草香皇子 - おおくさかのおうじ

A son of Emperor Nintoku who appears in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki.
His mother was Kaminagahime. His wife was Nakashihime-no-mikoto (later the Empress of Emperor Anko). His son was Prince Mayowano. In the first year of the reign of Emperor Anko, the Emperor sent Neno-omi to arrange a marriage between Prince Okusaka's younger sister Princess Kusakanohatabihime and Prince Ohatsuse (Emperor Yuryaku). Prince Okusaka was happy to accept the marriage, but Neno-omi gave a false report and was killed by the Emperor. In the Kojiki, he is called Prince Dainichika and Hatabino-oiratsuko.

記・紀にみえる仁徳(にんとく)天皇の皇子。
母は髪長媛(かみながひめ)。妻は中蒂姫命(なかしひめのみこと)(のちの安康天皇の皇后)。子に眉輪(まよわの)王。安康天皇元年天皇が大草香皇子の妹草香幡梭姫(くさかのはたびひめの)皇女と大泊瀬(おおはつせの)皇子(雄略天皇)を結婚させようと,根使主(ねのおみ)を派遣した。大草香皇子はよろこんでうけたが,根使主がいつわりの報告をしたため天皇に殺された。「古事記」では大日下王,波多毘能大郎子(はたびのおおいらつこ)。
