This mountain is located in Nobeoka City in the northern part of Miyazaki Prefecture. It is 1,644 meters above sea level. It is part of the Sobokatamuki Quasi-National Park. It was formed by a granite intrusion from the Miocene period of the Tertiary period, and the surrounding mountains of Onimo, Kanou, Higakure, and Goyodake are also part of the same rock mass. It has been subjected to severe erosion, and many rock peaks and cliffs rise up, the largest of which exceeds 400 meters. It has beautiful virgin forests of fir, hemlock, and beech trees, and the Sanrigawara valley, which is the source of the Hohri River. There is a bus service from JR Nobeoka Station to Kamihohri, and from there it is a walk. [Junichi Yokoyama] View from the east side. Sobosan National Park.
