The king who played an important role as the actual builder of the kingdom was King Geiseric (?-477, reigned 428-477), but the tribesmen who followed him across the Strait of Gibraltar in 429 were made up of various tribesmen who had joined together during the long migration from northern Germany and Hungary, and had transformed into a group of people who were subservient to Geiseric as a military leader.
