Cupboard - Todana

Japanese: 戸棚 - とだな
Cupboard - Todana

A general term for storage equipment with a door at the front, surrounded by boards on three sides, and shelves inside for storing items. Typical examples include bookshelves, cupboards, wardrobes, and tool racks. Designs, dimensions, construction, and materials vary greatly depending on the type, size, and weight of the items to be stored, as well as how often they are taken in and out. In any case, safety against earthquakes is required, and the JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) specifies how to deal with this for office bookshelves and the like.
