The latter include Ellsworth Kelly (1923- ), Jack Youngerman (1926- ), Al Held (1928- ), Helen Frankenthaler (1928-96), S. Francis, and Kenneth Noland (1924- ), who performed clear and impersonal manipulation of color fields. Since the late 1960s, the concept of art has become dramatically more diversified, and various experiments have been carried out since the emergence of conceptual art, which seeks to reduce art to its origins in the relationship between matter and humans.
